Final Crisis 6 the Dark Knights faith revealed? I don’t think so I think issue 6 asks a whole lot more questions than it answers.

Like what is the Omega Sanction? And the heroes big fail safe is to escape to a different earth? Really? Really really? The heroes plan to run away, just to give up not die fighting, not retreat and comeback. Just run just give up. I get why Grant wrote that I get what he is trying to show us. A situation so bad the heroes are ready and prepared to quit and are scared enough to do it.

I just don’t buy it. I mean just about every hero, no in fact every hero in the DC universe has faced life and death situations before. They all pretty much choose death. I get it I just don’t buy it.

Barry Allen came back. Was sent back to stop Darkseid why Batman appears to have done it and with mandrakk’s debut in issue 7 it looks like he did. So Barry came back just in case Batman didn’t stop Darkseid? Or did Barry come back to stop Mandrakk and he doesn’t know it yet?

Ok this is a spoiler a huge spoiler so if you don’t want to know Batman’s fate stop reading.

Ok still with me? Great, so Batman escapes the chamber he was held in as seen in Batman 682 and 683. He grabs a gun, tells Darkseid he is going to break his most sacred promises ever, use a gun being number 1 and killing being 2. Darkseid asks Batman if he can “out race the Omega Sanction the death that is LIFE”, Batman smiles, points the big god killing gun at Darkseid and says, “Try ME’. Batman then shoots Darkseid directly in the heart killing him. Darkseid was able to launch his Omega Sanction before the bullet hits though, so Batman and apparently Darkseid are both dead.

The death that is life comment makes me think that Batman is still alive somewhere inside his own mind. He just has to escape it and if Mister Miracle can do it so can Batman. My bet is the rumors of new god Batman are true so I am hoping to see new god Batman slay Mandrakk.

My only 2 real major problems with this issue are, what did Batman R.I.P. have to do with any of this? It was a complete waste, it wasn’t a great story, good not great and now it’s meaningless as well. My second major problem with this issue, Batman a gun? Really a gun? I get it, its Grant saying look how bad this is Batman has to use a gun once again I get it I just don’t buy it.

But I am looking forward to 7 if only to see how this wraps up.

On the art side, forget it 6 people on art 2 on color it’s a mess, a huge mess the best I can say is the art isn’t as bad of a distraction as the last 2 issues. But I must say the final page of Superman holding the nasty corpse of Batman was beautiful. I believe it was drawn solely by Doug Mahnke I will double check and update if I am wrong.
