Men in Black

The first time I saw Men in Black I walked out of the theater singing,” here comes the men in crap”. I hated this film the first time I saw it. It was short, boring and had no real point but, one night while bored, horny and restless I stumbled upon MIB and sure enough fell in love. Something about not paying to see it made me not begrudge its lack of substance and appreciate its humor and flare. Something that never happened with part 2. That movie is still a piece of shit.

Tin Cup

I can’t really explain this one. I still think it sucks, it just grew on me like a fungus or herpes. First time I saw it I thought, Kevin Costner was finally done. Little did I know he still had aces up his sleeve like, “Postman”, “3000 Miles to Graceland” and the gem of gems “Dragonfly”

Larger Than Life

On first viewing I thought Bill Murray finally made a movie that sucked. 6 weeks later on second viewing I was ready for a sequel. I mean damn this film was funny. Tip’s tip top truckin’ rocked, I see Matthew McConaughey films still to this day because of his role in this.

Kate and Leopold

Really can’t tell why I didn’t like this flick on first viewing. I think it was all the hub bub about Meg Ryan eating Russell Crowe’s undies. Poor Mr. Quaid. Good film though I liked it a lot the 2nd time. Even bought the DVD. This film will most likely go down as Meg’s last good/big/real film, sad.

Ladyhawk

Maybe it was the horrible soundtrack or the annoying Ferris Bueller but, it took me well over 10 years to like this film, don’t get me wrong it has lots of flaws big ones, huge ones I just dig it now. Maybe because it reminds me of a simpler time when shit was shit, you know? Like no one was out there hocking this film like it was something to be worshipped like every film released today.

Street Fighter

I love this film.

No, no, no I don’t sorry

The real 5th is

Batman forever

On first viewing I thought wow this film sucks. I can’t get any worse than this, and then came “Batman and Robin”. Well after that Val Kilmer became the shit, the man. But I still say fuck Joel Schumacher

4th

Space Jam

I remember loving Michael Jordan but thinking, “my God what a ego, I mean come on did you really need a movie Mike?” But 10 years later this is a film I watch every time it’s on TV. So good job Jordan.

3rd

Speed Racer

I hated this film. I thought what the hell is wrong with those damn Wachowski’s brothers brother and sister. But now, now I respect the eye candy if Warner Brothers will double dip this on blu ray with some audio to match the video I will be one happy dude

2nd

Stardust

I remember walking into Stardust with very, very high expectations. I was expecting something really great, and special. I remember not hating it but, being very let down. This wasn’t “Princess Bride” this wasn’t even “Labyrinth”. But 6 months later when the HD DVD arrived in the mail and I gave the film a 2nd chance I fell in love, while it wasn’t “Princess Bride” it is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time just like Princess Bride. Simply splendid

Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl

“This aint your daddy’s pirate movie”, is what I kept saying after seeing the film. It was like a slap in the face to the pirate genre. Where was the fun, the swashbuckling? It was all there I was just a dumbass. I saw this twice in the theater the 2nd time I felt like I had seen a different film. I was in love. The next 2 Pirate films did not disappoint either.

Well that’s my list if you liked it please check back Monday for my top ten films I liked the first time I saw them but, now think “suck” and as always please let me know how much you think I suck. Thanks
