Final Crisis 7 Review
Written by Chris Evans

Wow I was really looking forward to Final Crisis 7, and I have to admit it kept me speechless all day.

You know it’s really hard for me to review this issue like a normal issue, but I will do my best. My largest problem with the series as a whole is the shock for the sake of shock. There are plenty of shocks in Final Crisis (FF), but they are there for shock value only. Batman picks up a gun A GUN and shoots someone, sure that someone is a evil new god. But its Batman Why would Batman resort to using a gun so quickly. Remember when Batman was kidnapped everything was still relatively fine. So how does Batman decide with no contact from the outside world at all, that today is the day he breaks his only rules. No guns no kills why what made him do that, and don’t say R.I.P. He was fine after that grant showed him not even worrying about it (Batman 682 and 683). What was the point of Mandrakk 4 pages what a waste (superman beyond don’t count sorry). My favorite thing about FC is that Batman breaks his only rules and Darkseid is still alive although barely. How does Darkseid meet his final faith? Superman sings him a song WTF Really a song. I like Grant Morrison he has written some amazing things, this was the one that proves someone needs to keep him reined in. The art was good better than it’s been since issue 1, Doug Mahnke should have been given the keys to this series since the beginning

Final Crisis is not genius it’s not earth shattering its more annoying than anything. So much happens for no reason, it’s like a 12 issue series we only got 7 issues of. Forums love to bash Dan DiDio for anything at all but in this case I have to say the bashing is somewhat deserved. Dan should of stepped in and said hey do we really need this does it serve the story? No then it’s gone but he didn’t and this book paid the price for it. DC can still come out on top in 2009 it just won’t be because of Final Crisis.

I am not even going to mention bringing back one of the greatest character ever only to use him for 12 pages at most. And not give a reason why he was brought back. (Barry Allen)
